Estepona, the Coasts most westerly resort, is a sizeable yet charming holiday destination. East of Marbella and past San Pedro de Alcantara, this region of the coast has largely avoided over building and has maintained its natural, rural coastline and spectacular open vistas of the mountains and across the Mediterranean sea to Gibraltar and Morocco.
Traditional bars, restaurants and shops can be found along the town’s quaint cobbled streets and avenues, with the outstanding seafront promenade offering sensational beach front walks and views. Also along the promenade there are children’s play areas and many restaurants and bars. There are more than 20km of beaches, a bustling marina with bars, cafés and restaurants, and a regular street market.
Accommodation available along this desirable coastline ranges from beachside to inland and luxury to golf – with some accommodation offering all this together.
Just before entering Estepona, the luxury shopping and dining outlet of Laguna Village can be found, where you can easily wile away an afternoon browsing the fashion boutiques or relaxing in a beachside restaurant.
If you are a golfer, Estepona and its surrounds offer some of the most impressive courses to spend your days on. From Finca Cortesin, home of the Volvo World match play Championship to El Paraiso another Championship course, with many luxurious apartment complexes very close by.
For the kids and adventure seekers, there is the Selwo Adventure and Safari park which offers a great day out for the whole family. From Estepona, you are a short distance by car to the Costa de la Luz coastline and the fantastic beaches of Tarifa and beyond offering fantastic surfing and kite surfing, to participate in or just to lie back on the sandy beach and watch.
