Mallorca, also known as Majorca, is the largest of the Balearic Islands, located off the southeast coast of Spain in the Mediterranean Sea. Its 550 kilometres of coastline offers visitors every type of coastal landscape from beautiful sheltered coves, to wide open sandy beaches, and soaring cliffs and gorges.
Mallorca is an ideal destination for water sports, such as scuba diving and sailing, as well as the more traditional and relaxing ‘sun and sand’ holidays many seek. With nearly half of the island being protected countryside, walking and hiking are also favourite pursuits to enjoy the stunning landscapes.
The capital city, Palma de Mallorca, is the cultural centre of the island and boasts an impressive Gothic cathedral dating back to the 17th century. Amongst the city’s magnificent architecture, you’ll find fantastic shopping, and a buzzing nightlife, with a mix of traditional and international cuisine to choose from, with restaurants, bars and cafes spilling out onto the pavement for an alfresco drinking or dining experience.
